Long Island Wedding Reception Venue Dance Floor Fun!
There’s nothing more fun than partying on the wedding dance floor after the stresses and strains of getting married have faded! With a great DJ, free flowing drinks, and a fun-loving photographer, you’re bound to get great evidence, I mean photos of wedding guests having the time of their lives. For photographers, this is the perfect time to catch the wedding frivolity by getting up close with your favorite wide-angle fisheye lens!
Here’s a fun Long Island wedding photo of the bride and groom surrounded by cheering wedding guests on the dance floor at The Metropolitan, in Glen Cove, NY. Shooting overhead views is something every good Long Island wedding photographer tries to do. Whether by holding a camera above their heads, standing on a chair or a ladder, of finding a balcony to shoot from—photographers do what it takes. Personally, I try to refrain from standing on chairs. But if it’s the only option, I wear easy to remove slip-on dress shoes so I don’t ruin any chair covers. Fortunately I’m light and agile enough to do this safely.
Few wedding dance floor activities are as much fun to do as being thrown or throwing someone in the air. My personal preference is to be a nonparticipant taking photos from the sidelines. Especially when there are low ceilings! Someday I hope to photograph a wedding with former cheerleaders. That should produce some exceptional wedding bride and groom throws!
These twin wedding guests doing an impromptu wedding dance floor hokey-pokey dance crack me up. They put the “wild” in wild wedding dance floor moves.
Check out this two-year-old wedding ring bearer stealing the show on the dance floor. I don’t know what they put in his juice box, but count me in!
I think I shot this photo of wedding guest dance floor camaraderie on the dance floor of the Harbor Club at Prime. Wish I could remember what song they were singing. Probably that wedding favorite, Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.

“Dan Wagner was the best money spent on our wedding. He was nice, professional and did a great job. He took great candid photos—which I love. Not only did we get every picture he took, but the photos were full size and without any writing on them, and they arrived just a few days after we came back home from our honeymoon. We got to choose many pictures for our album. Because everything was digital, he e-mailed me exactly what the layout of the album would be before it was printed, and I was able to make changes. Our album was the nicest I have seen, and everyone who has seen it wishes they had hired him.”
