“Dan is an all-around creative talent, with wordsmithing skills that make him a valuable hire for any content-writing position.”
—Paul Witcover, Author and Associate Dean, SNHU Online MFA
First and foremost, hello, and thanks for visiting the Writer section of my Dan Wagner website. You’re probably wondering what kind of writer has a site with links to his work as a photographer and a content creator—and what is a “Cranky Camera?” Great questions!
Lucky for me and my writing clients—since writing plays in grade school, logging over 10,000 hours as a senior copywriter, authoring a non-fiction book, a novel with a screenplay adaptation, and writing web content—I’ve always been passionate about writing, as well as photography. I find that my creative interests are mutually supportive, and help me achieve the most for myself and others.
From the age of 15 when I won first and second place in a New York City photography competition for high school students, through getting university degrees in photography, teaching at the NYC Fashion Institute of Technology, assisting famous photographers, opening a Manhattan photo studio, shooting ads, magazine editorial, fine art, and photographing weddings—I’ve always been passionate about photography.
As for The Cranky Camera section of my site—that’s a showcase for my photography-related writing, and a place for me to heap praise on fellow writers and photographers who inspire me. Therefore, bringing my writing, photography, and The Cranky Camera under one “roof” makes sense to me—and hopefully to you as well. —Dan Wagner
