Getting married at Raphael Vineyards, located on the scenic North Shore of Long Island, guarantees that your wedding photos will be amazing! The guarantee is of course conditional on pairing one of the vineyards fine wines with an equally fine Long Island Wedding photographer.

Everywhere you look is photogenic—from the enormous stone fountain at the head of the circular driveway leading to Raphael Vineyards’ front entrance, to the rear balcony balustrades overlooking the wine vineyards laden with ripening grapes, to the cavernous interior featuring dark wood floors and a timber ceiling, and finally to the cellar with row upon row of oak wine casks—every view is as they say on Long Island, “gorgeous and to die for!”

Raphael Vineyard’s Website Leaves Much to Be Desired!

One of the reasons I wrote this blog article, is to help brides, grooms, and wedding guests make up for the shortcomings of Raphael Vineyard’s website. Of all the wedding venue sites I’ve visited, Raphael Vineyard’s has among the least wedding-related information. Let me say, I love Raphael Vineyards, enjoy shooting there, and the people there are first-rate! Of course like other wineries, they’re a vineyard first, and a wedding venue a distant second or third. Still, it would be very helpful if they provided more than two contacts, an email, and a phone number for couples to enquire about weddings—Julie Petrocelli Vergari & Lisa Cheek specialevents@raphaelwine.com 631-765-1100 x106.

No worries! Your friendly neighborhood Long Island photographer is happy to fill in some of the Raphael Vineyard wedding information gaps.

Getting to Raphael Vineyards on the North Shore of Long Island

One of the cons or pros, depending on how you look at of getting married at Raphael Vineyards is their remote location on the eastern tip of Long Island’s North Fork. Unless your wedding guests live nearby, they might consider the long drive and heavy summer traffic burdensome. Traveling when there’s less traffic, and staying at an Airbnb or local hotel is a wise plan.

Wedding guests traveling from or through Connecticut have the fantastic option of crossing the Long Island sound by ferry. The Cross Sound Ferry trip from New London, CT to Orient Point, NY, takes an hour and twenty minutes. Making reservations, especially during peak travel times may be crucial—so plan ahead. After arriving at Orient Point, it should take less than 30-minutes to get to Raphael Vineyard. Summertime peak travel for a vehicle with a driver and one passenger should cost between $90 to $100. Priority boarding is available for an extra $10.

“Dan Wagner was the best money spent on our wedding. He was nice, professional and did a great job. He took great candid photos—which I love. Not only did we get every picture he took, but the photos were full size and without any writing on them, and they arrived just a few days after we came back home from our honeymoon. We got to choose many pictures for our album. Because everything was digital, he e-mailed me exactly what the layout of the album would be before it was printed, and I was able to make changes. Our album was the nicest I have seen, and everyone who has seen it wishes they had hired him.”
