From the moment I met Julia and Carlos, I knew we would have a lot of fun shooting their Long Island engagement photos in a Stony Brook park, and the wedding at Watermill Caterers in Smithtown, New York. By the way, the Watermill did an amazing job setting up the outdoor ceremony area—so pretty!
One moment really made me smile—it was when Julia’s ring bearer—the cutest little boy you could imagine—held her hand and walked with her down a garden path—it made me think, “hey who shrunk the groom?” Capturing these moments, is one of the joys of being a wedding photographer!

What should I know before meeting with the salesperson at Watermill Caterers and other Long Island wedding venues?
My only “warning” is to not feel pressured into hiring their house vendors. Now, I don’t blame any business for trying to maximize their profits, but I think it’s a bit much for a wedding reception hall to recommend vendors that allegedly pay them commissions. This practice has been going on at many wedding venues for decades.
