This 10 Best Long Island Wedding Planners list will help you spend your wedding planning budget wisely. As with anything desirable in life, brides and grooms owe it to themselves to compare the pros and cons of their wedding planner, venue, photographer and other important wedding vendors. So, to maximize the usefulness of my Long Island Wedding Blog, I’ve decided to create a series of blog articles designed to make your vendor comparison searches easier, faster, and more informative. Being somewhat of a shopaholic myself, I’m an expert at separating the wheat from the chaff—in other words this blog can help you avoid the worst fate known to mankind—buyer’s remorse!

If you’re asking this question, you probably do. Although, you might simply need a Day of Coordinator, or some part-time wedding planning help.
But, if you have a large and/or complicated wedding with many moving parts and potential complications, then hiring a full-time, full-service experienced wedding planner may be the best money you spend on your wedding. In addition to feeling less stressed, your wedding planner fees might pay for themselves in vendor savings.
Think of it this way—will you be able to quickly address all potential wedding issues on your wedding day and on the days leading up to it? Logically, the answer is no, or not without a lot of stress and worry. Things happen. Your limo company might have a vehicle problem, or go to the wrong address—these are things your wedding planner can handle. Your florist might not deliver the correct flowers in your centerpieces—this too is something wedding planners generally check for during venue setup.
All a wedding planner has to do, Is recognize, address, and fix one crucial issue on your wedding day to justify their fees. And who knows, by the day of your wedding you may have just found a new best friend—your wedding planner!

What Should I Look for When Hiring a Long Island Wedding Planner?
Do they have a good website? Why? Because someone tasked with organizing your wedding shouldn’t have a disorganized website—that’s just good common sense. Here’s the gold-standard (in my opinion), of wedding planning websites.
Check out your wedding planners Instagram and other social media. This will help you get an idea of how many, and what kind of weddings they’ve planned recently.
Really a number one question—is your prospective wedding planner a good listener? Do you have a good rapport? Are they empathetic, competent, and do they have a plan that will deliver success while averting lesser outcomes?
Do you know anyone they’ve worked with? Reviews are fine and dandy, but nothing compares with watching a wedding planner in action, or knowing someone they’ve worked with.
It’s not necessary that your wedding planner try to be your best friend, or be a suck-up—someone who cares about what they do, and is good at it, will always hold themselves to a high standard. That’s what I would look for in a wedding planner, or in anyone else I intended to do business with.
Simple Tips for Long Island Wedding Planner Photography
As a photographer, I can state from experience that it’s always good to provide wedding planners and fellow wedding vendors with courtesy photos that help them promote their business. Doing so helps not only your wedding photography business, but the bride and groom’s wedding interests as well. How? Well, it provides a tiny bit of added focus and pride in what the wedding vendor is doing in the moment. Call it positive wedding energy!
Ask the wedding planner if they have a short wish list of photos they would like. This will usually include shots of fully setup, yet empty cocktail hour and reception ballrooms, as well as details such as printed items, flowers—and the most important wedding planning photo of all—a shot of the wedding planner with the bride!
