For years, photographers, collectors, museums, and others subscribed to the Your Daily Photograph have eagerly awaited their daily 12 noon email featuring curated vintage, modern, themed, and juried photographs. Beside being beautiful to look at, and a nice dive into the history of photography, each photograph is available for purchase at a reduced price for a 24-hour period. Plus, prints offered through Your Daily Photograph are inspected, and personally approved by Daniel Miller, director of the Duncan Miller Gallery, located in the gallery district of Santa Monica, California.
Unlike juried contests, subscribing and submitting photos to Your Daily Photograph are free. Photographers interested in submitting work need only open an account, and wait to be notified for contests and submission calls. Once notified, you can simply log-in to your account, enter a submission code, upload up to three photos, and fill in some specs regarding the name, year created, size, and other related info. Selected entrants are notified on the same day their photograph will be shown online, and are given a link to share with friends and on their social media.
Thanks to themed submissions with multiple winners, such as My Favorite Place, the odds of having your work selected are pretty good. Photographers price their submissions, and are required to provide a minimum of one print if their work sells. The terms and conditions are fair and equitable—with Your Daily Photograph and the photographer sharing equally in the proceeds. And although it’s wonderful if the work sells, many photographers prize the gallery exposure, along with the opportunity to enhance their CVs even more. Selected photographs are also featured on Your Daily Photograph’s Instagram.
