How to Look and Feel Beautiful on Your Wedding Day
Looking and feeling beautiful on your wedding day comes from being well rested, happy with your clothing and makeup, and most importantly feeling loved and supported by friends and family. As a guy, perhaps I’m not the best person to give beauty advice. However, as a photographer I can state from experience, that there’s something about the enchantment of a wedding day that brings out the beauty in every bride. The same thing is often said about the “beautiful glow” of pregnancy. Capturing this glow in wedding photography is so much fun!
Pretty surroundings such as this well-manicured forest garden spot is an inspiring location for creating beautiful photographs of the bride. It’s important to make sure that the bottom of the grown is artfully arranged. Photos of the bride holding her bouquet in this downward position is one of my favorite formal poses. Notice how naturally the bride carries her bouquet—quite a feat considering that bouquets are often somewhat heavy.
This photo of the bride with her bridesmaids and flower girl is nicely arranged. Having them look off to one side instead of looking at the camera makes the photo more interesting—as the viewer, it makes you wonder what they’re looking at. I also find this type of pose feels more natural than having people always look at the camera. Notice the position of the bouquets—bellybutton height. This bouquet placement shows off the wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses quite well.

“My friend recommended Dan to my husband and I, and we could not have been happier. Dan is calm, cool, and professional. I have a large Italian Family, and my husband has a large Irish Family. Dan was able to gather all of us for pictures, followed lists we had previously prepared, and did not miss one minute of our special day.”
